I'm a new DVC member via resale. I'm staying from the 26th April and doing a cash stay for the first 5 days then the rest of my stay is DVC. I've just booked my dining reservations for the first 5 days but can't go further than that.

I thought as DVC members you got the perk of being able to do the 10 days for split stays? Is this because I brought resale that I can't or to do with it being a cash booking and then DVC?

This isn’t a DVC policy. It’s standard for cash room split stays as well. At 180 days before your first reservation you get 180+5 to book. Since the second reservation is just that, a completely separate reservation, you can book 180+5 at that reservations 180 day mark. Disney does not see split stays as a single stay but two separate unique reservations.

Thank you saves me ringing up while I'm at work, I will wait until Sunday to book my reminder. I assume it is also the same with Fastpasses?

Call them and they can link it to allow this. I’ve done it many times. You’d do best to call DVC member services. The CM’s on the regular WDW dining line have no idea how to link it for dining reservations. You should be able to book for total length of stay, but you must call.

If you link all your hotel reservations on the app you can make reservations online. All you need to do is enter your reservation number. The same with fast passes if you li k your ticket numbers. . The app recognizes when you can make FPS based on your ticket and your hotel reservation. At least that’s how it works for me.

Are both stay at a DVC resort? If so you should be able to 'link' them to do the 180 +10.

I’ve never had issues with FP’s for a split stay but have always had issues with dining FWIW. I always have to call for dining with a split stay.

YES. I have done this when split-staying even at Swan/Dolphin. But call when you are in your window for your first half, and you will be able to book ALL your dining reservations for your entire stay over the phone.

Same here. Just did this for FPs - no problem at all, thankfully. Only had to call in for dining.
