We have a party of 5 in one 2-bedroom villa. We will eat about 4 table service meals together and then have about 3 meals when we will do our own thing for the evening. Everybody would like to take advantage of the 180+10 reservation option. If we both call and make reservations providing the hotel reservation number, what is the likelihood that one or both of the reservations in the dining system would be canceled for "double-dipping"?

I would think that as long as I use my name and phone number and my in-laws use their name and phone number for theirs we should not have any issues.

Can those who have done this let me know if there could be any unforeseen issues?

It's a perfectly valid case.

Just use the different names and phone numbers to be on the safe side and you'll be fine. Dining reservations aren't associated with resort reservations in that way. However, make sure that they (or you, whoever is not the primary guest on the resort reservation) has them enter their information as it may get auto-populated with the resort info. (This is one of the key reasons why the phone number when calling used to be different a lot of times!)

We had the same issue come up when we went. We wanted to do a girls breakfast at Akershus and a guys breakfast at 'Ohana on the same day. I used different names and phone numbers, just in case, but had no problems. My guess is that Disney probably looks into these a little before cancelling them, and since all of our other ADR's were for 7, and this was a 3 and a 4 at the same time, it was pretty obvious what was going on.
