Just found out TODAY that my son's fiancee just got her visa and is coming with us to Disney. I had made dining reservations for 6 and 1 two-year old for a total of 7 on all of my reservations--at the 90-day mark. The trip is now one month away and I know I could not rebook the same restaurants and times.

If we showed a little early, could they accept 8 persons instead of 7. I was hoping that the table setup would be the same and we could all fit in.

Has anyone had luck with this?

So call and try to rebook first. That way you will know ahead of time that you won't run into any problems. Disney will usually seat an extra guest for you, but sometimes you do have to wait a little longer.

We showed up @ CP with 4 for a reservation for 3 and it was no problem. I am thinking since you are going from an odd number to an even it will less likely be a problem.

I would call and ask. They might be able to change it in the system without canceling and re-booking your reservation, so the restaurant would be aware of the actual size of your group before you arrive. I'm sure you're not the only one with changing plans, since you do have to book 3 months in advance, so they should know how to best handle it to make sure that you still get the reservations you want.

We were a party of 8 and had a extra person show up making it 9. When we checked in for our ADR we just told them we had a extra person and they told us no problem. We did not have to wait any longer then normal.

Now mind you...this person was the mother of one of our scouts so we could not tell her no...and we had to add her to 4 of our ADR and each time we did not have a problem.

I don't think it is possible to just change the reservation like that. The OP would have to see if another time is available and rebook in that case.

You should have NO problems showing up with 8 as they don't make tables that sit 3, you would have two 4 top tables regardless in most cases. Just show up and have a great trip. I wouldn't even bother trying to call but that's just me.

You should have no problem. 7 sit at the same size table as 8. If you call and try and rebook, they may cancel your reservation first and then be unable to make a new one. They don't just change the # of guests, they cancel/rebook.

Almost all tables are designed for an even number of people, so a reservation for 7 and a reservation for 8 would use the same size table. It would not hurt to call Dining to have them make the change, but if they are unwilling I would suggest just show up at the podium of the restaurant and you will have no problem.

We have done that before and no problem...however the problem was when we were trying book times for a large party and they didn't have adequate tables for our magic number. So we said we would split. Once we got to the restaurant they were able to put us together. There is something weird about the whole booking system that won't allow them to book certain numbers sometimes. Good luck!
