We are getting close to our 180 mark so I can make our dining reservations. Questions I have are:
1. If we have the dining plan with our resort package, how does that work for reservations at places like Cinderella's Castle and Hoop-de-Doo? Do I have to pay for those reservations in full when I make the reservation or does the system accept our dining plan and not charge our credit card upon making the reservation? I just want to be prepared financially if I have to pay for these reservations up front.
2. What category is given with people who have the dining plan at the Hoop-de-Doo?

Thank you!!:confused3

As long as you have the table service plan you don't have to do anything. When you go in tell them you are using your dining plan and you don't pay anything, it's taken care of with the plan. Each 1 of those meals will deduct 2 meals each from your plan. So be prepared for that. Go to the link below to see all your dining options and what they require.

Have Fun :cool1:

Oh yea, and the CC Guarantee is only if you don't show for your res. They might charge you a fee. This is something that they are still working on.

89 Days and counting POFC

Disney requires a credit card for some ADR's to guarantee your reservation even if you're on the dining plan. Your card is not charged unless you don't show up!! :firefight

On the old version of the dining website you could specify if you were booking with the dining plans. In that case, you would still give your cc but it would only be charged if you don't cancel within the specified window (it is not just if you don't show up, there is a certain window in which they must be cancelled.)

I'm not sure if that functionality is present on the new website. If not, you will have to call so that your cc doesn't get charged up front.

This is the seating info from allears: "Disney Dining Plan: The Dining Plan can be used for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue for Categories 2 and 3 seating. TWO table service credits will be deducted for these shows. The Dining Plan can also be used for Category 1 seating at the 8:30 p.m. show, using two table service meal entitlements."

The penalty is charged if the ADR is not cancelled within the window (not only if you don't show up).

1. You will need to link your resort reservation number when you book CRT and Hoop De Doo if you want to use the dining plan credits. You will not be charged for the reservation, but you will still have to give your credit card info because of the cc guarantee. Your card will not be charged unless you fail to cancel before the deadline and/or your entire party does not show up for your meal. For CRT and Hoop De Doo the financial penalty is the full amount of the meal for everyone on the reservation.

Sometimes the online system is flaky, so if it wants to charge you the full amount when making the reservation, you'll need to call the dining line.

2. From the 2014 DDP:

Dinner Shows offer family-style dining with live entertainment show performances
throughout the meal, themed to the Resort setting.
The Disney Dining Plan can be used for Category 2 or Category 3 seating at all Dinner Shows
(subject to availability) and Category 1 seating at the 8:30pm Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
(subject to availability).
Please pick up your dinner show ticket at the Concierge Desk in your Disney Resort Hotel
prior to arriving at the show. All Dinner Shows require Advance Reservations. Gratuities are included.
Two meals for each person dining at a Dinner Show will be redeemed from their meal plan balance.

As of November 19 (that's next Tuesday) WDW will require a credit card guarantee for ALL restaurant reservations.

For the prepaid ones, if you're on DDP you'll do the credit card guarantee. No DDP, and you pay in full.

Wish I knew that earlier - when I booked CRT using MDE, it charged the full amount to my CC. Hopefully, when I arrive and use my dining credits they'll refund the CC charges.
