Hi everyone,

Haven't been to Universal since 2001 (we were at HRH on 9/11), so we're really looking forward to our trip this year, Aug. 29-Sept. 5 at RPR. Can you tell me if you have to make dining reservations before leaving months in advance (like Disney) or can I just make them when we get there?

We also have 2 girls (11 and 4) .. big age difference .. what restaurants or character meals are there for them?

thanks,
Maureen

You can make them when you're there (day/morning of). It isn't Disney and you don't need to decide NOW where to eat THEN!

I am wondering if with WWOHP if this will change. There seem to be more people posting that they are going then in the past. Perhaps we need to be more planners then we had to be before. How far in advance can you make a ressie for restaurants in the parks?

The restaurants don't usually take any more advance reservations than that morning. Which is good...keeps it from becoming a Disney ADR fiasco. Everyone has a fair chance.

Just inside the parks are dining res kiosks and there is one at CW on your way in from the parking garage to accommodate off-siters. You can stop at the kiosk and make your res for later that day. You can always ask if they will take a res for 'tomorrow'...doesn't hurt to try.

There are a couple exceptions like Emerils and Tchop Chop, but they are a finer dining and I didn't think you were looking for that.

Great thanks, I really didn't want to start obsessing about ADRs and all that right now. :flower3:

Call 407-503-3463 to make advance reservations. You are able to make them 30 days prior.

If you want to secure certain times or restaurants during busier times you may want to do this.

We will be at US/IA the week of March 7. I did call ahead for a few ressies even though it will not be crowded. But I have a party of 9 including two small children who have to eat at certain times.

I have always called ahead to secure our Mythos reservation.

We made ressies for Mama Della's only because it was Christmas Eve. We've gone to Mythos, Finnegan's etc... during that week and never waited long. Ressies won't hurt though because you never know.:)
