Im trying to book dining reservations for an upcoming staying at VDH, but its only letting me book 60 days out!

Do they not consider additional days for length of stay like WDW? Does the walk up list work well for Trader Sams because it looks like im not getting in there šŸ˜•

Yes, walk up works for Trader Sam's. There's a thread about it on the Disneyland forum. I feel like it's maybe 4 weeks ago? There's also a planned refurbishment.

Length of stay isn't a thing with dining reservations at DL. You have to do it daily. However, don't feel bad if you miss anything. I always get good reservations when I check the day before. Lots of people just booking stuff and then cancelling the day before or the day of.

Ok cool! I notice a lot of places i want to go are not reservation based (broken spell, tangoroa) so I should be okay! I did make a reservation for palm breeze! Im excited as ive never eaten at these places! And for room service which im thinking is the same as vgc so I already know we love it! I wonder if the pool food is the same šŸ¤”

Other than Trader Sam’s, you won’t have much trouble at all getting an online dining reservation at the resort. (Even during day of). For the bar at the Palm Breeze, it’s easy-peasy, walk on up. Broken Spell…walk on in. Outdoor evening at Tangaroa Terrace..walk on up. Palette Pool, just put up a flag at your lounger (if they haven’t come on by already, making rounds greeting you) for drinks & snacks. (Chicken wings are some of the best).

Are they the Asian chicken wings like at vgc? Those are my favorite wings ever!

Thats actually very nice that you dont have to worry about reservations although I feel anxious as if im doing something wrong without a reservation for everything 🤣

Nah. Each place has their own special version. Believe VDH is currently Signature Dry Rub.

Yeah the garden rooms are a nice upgrade for the extra points. Especially unless get one of the Duo’s with one, only spot going to get a balcony/patio in studio size room.

So if you get a regular duo room thats not garden view youll have a balcony? The standard studios dont bave balconies?

I stayed in a duo standard. It had a balcony and the view was so bad, that I couldn't imagine sitting on the balcony ever. I also didn't like the duo at all. It feels like half the room is a bathroom and the other half is a bed when you have the bed down.

My complaint was the bathroom was too big and the balcony was too big making the room itty bitty.

I love the jungle book themeing of the duo the most out of all the room themes which is why we considered duo, but I just cant see us both sleeping in the murphy bed comfortably which is why ive never stayed.

I had a poly tower duo studio premium view booked at one point for next year which I liked because potential fireworks view for way less points, but I never toured the duo studio at poly so I was hesitant. T

he only duo studio ive seen in person was the riv one and I def didnt like what I saw. Reminded me of an office

Some Duo’s do. Some Duo’s don’t. (Both standard & preferred). Correct on the deluxe studios in those categories. No balconies. Only 4 deluxe studios have outdoor space. (The Gardens).

@Girlstar30 Have stayed in a Premium Duo at Polynesian Tower. There is a reason why they use ā€œpremiumā€ and not ā€œtheme parkā€ on the Duo. They are stacked on the water side, tucked in where the north end of the tower angles back outward. Unless you get perhaps the top two floors there, you won’t see more toward Magic Kingdom than Contemporary-Space Mountain.

So its just a water view? Did you find the points to be worth it for the comfort of the room, size and view?
