Dining Reservation Strategy - ADRs Open Tomorrow

Hi everyone!

Our dining reservations for our party of 10 open tomorrow for our December 6-14 stay. Here are where we are planning on dining on which days:

Dec 7: Tusker House Dinner
Dec 8: Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic Dining Package) Dinner
Dec 9: Space 220 Lounge* & Coral Reef Dinner
Dec 11: Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner
Dec 13: Chef Mickey's (DS7's birthday and he specifically requested this one) Dinner
Dec 14: 'Ohana breakfast

Either Dec 10th or 12th, we'd like to do the Storybook Dining at Artist's Point.

We are flexible for lunch/dinner for most of these meals. The * for Space 220 is to indicate that my priority there is at least my MIL and DD11 get to go. We'd all like to go, but we were going to try to go last time we went down, because DD11 was really excited about it, but my MIL indicated she wanted to experience that too with DD11, so as long as we get 2 in we'll be happy!

Also, my MIL and sister both have their own MDE accounts now. They are on mine, I should still be able to make the reservations for our full party size on my phone, right? Thank you for your help and guidance!

For the lounge, I would book a party of 2 at different times. Tables for 4 are next to impossible to book (we tried 60+7, 60+8). If you look at ADRs now, there is a table for 2 available on 10/8, so availability is sparse but can happen closer to your trip (if you can’t secure an ADR at 60 days).

I am not sure how Fantasmic is being released. I see plenty of availability on 12/2 but none after. I see party of 10 available at 50s prime time today (so same day availability is possible)

Hoop de doo revue has Dec 5 availability for 10

Also, you might have to use 2 accounts to book Chef Mickey and see if they can combine 2 tables or seat close

I'm already inside of 60+ window and I can tell you that even though I was on at 6:00 AM Eastern the first day, the early dates were a challenge for our party of 8. Some venues had plenty of times for parties of 4 but nothing for 8 people together, even at the +10 days point, including the Fantasmic dining packages.

My advice is to book the "must have" reservations like that Chef Mickey meal and work from there.

You should be able to make the reservations on your phone even though other family members have their own MDE accounts. However, I found it to be much easier to navigate on the website using my laptop. Good luck tomorrow!

We got everything but Space 220. We had to break up our party size because there was NOTHING available for party of 10 and reserve through my MIL's account as well, but at least it's done! Thank you all!

We are planning on hitting the festival of the holiday booths instead of Space220 lounge (took 2 hours last year).

I might book a table for 2 (my teen does love the deviled eggs and slider).

Oh, shoot! It takes that long?? I was able to grab a table for 4 in the main restaurant.

You can let them know that you have other plans. We have food allergies so it did take a bit longer. The atmosphere is really cool. I would at least budget an hour for the lounge (read menus and be prepared to order right away).

The restaurant would be at least an hour and half (do not plan near fireworks; first time it took 2.5 hours for us and if you read TripAdvisor reviews it’s not that uncommon even for those without allergies).
