So I rented points from a DVC member and have a question about making my dining reservations at the 90 day out point...

Can I make my reservations myself on-line or by calling by giving the DVC reservation number I have received or do I have to count on the member who sold me the points to make the reservation?:confused3

Thanks for your help and responses.

Dave

You can make them on-line or by calling the main dining line at 407-WDW-DINE.

Any hints on how to get into the 'Le Cellier'? This will be our 5th trip in 10 years and on the previous 4 trips (when you could make reservations 6 months out) we have NEVER been able to get in.

Thanks

This thread is more suited to our Restaurant Board, where I am moving it to. Thank you.

If you are staying onsite (includes DVC):

Call or go online as soon as the dining lines and online booking open on the 90 day mark for the first day of your reservation. You can book at this time for up to 10 days if you provide an onsite resort reservation number. Try to book Le Cellier for as late in your trip as possible as long as it is within the 10 days. Be flexible and be prepared to accept lunch or very early or late dinner times.

If you are staying offsite:

Call or go online as soon as booking opens for exactly 90 days from the day you want to eat there. See above regarding being flexible.

As far as I know at this time DVC reservations will not allow you to access the 90+10 rule when booking online due to a glitch in the system. You will need to call the regular dining number in order to book the +10 part of your stay. HTH

That was fixed recently - it will now accept the DVC reservation numbers - but apparently it may not be able to tell if you have the dining plan on your DVC reservation.

Also, you will need to have the phone number of the member who made the reservation for you. Once that's taken care of, the earlier glitch seems to have been solved for *most* DVC reservations.

Note that you can try to log in and call up the reservation as a test right now, even if you aren't close to the 90 day mark. I was able to call up my January reservation just recently and it worked fine. Even made (and then canceled) a couple of test-ADRs.

I tried just now with no luck and I have both the reservation number and the telephone number of who I rented the points from. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I went to disneyworld.com and then typed in 'dining reservations' in the search box and went from there.

When you stay on-site, you have the perk of making reservations for your entire stay (well, up to 10 days) at the 90 day mark. For example, I am going October 1-10 of this year. My 90 day window for making reservations opened on July 3rd. On July 3rd, I was able to make dining reservations not just for my 1st day (90 days out), but for my entire stay. That's the 90+10. If I were staying off-site, I would have to call each day to get my reservation for each day of my stay: July 3rd for Oct. 1st; July 4th for Oct. 2nd; and so on.

I too am renting DVC points. I was able to make all of my reservations online for the 90+10 at the 90 day mark. As for Le Cellier, I second the pp in that you should get that ADR first, and make it as far into your trip as you can. I actually got two ADRs for Le Cellier on my trip. I decided to try Tutto Italia, so I canceled one of them. Oh, and if you don't already know, you can begin making online reservations at 6:00am eastern time. If you call, you must wait until 7am.

Good luck!

On the dining reservation page, you'll see an area near the top of the form that says

Do you have a Resort reservation for the same days for which you're making dining reservations?
If so, please retrieve your reservation.

The last three words will be a link - is that where you're clicking to enter your confirmation number? There are other places where you would put in an ADR confirmation number to retrieve a specific reservation - that's not where you want to be.
