This is my first time posting and I was wondering if anyone could help us.

My family have been planning a trip to Walt Disney world August 18-25 with my parents and in-law. We have scheduled dining for certain days months ago; however, now my sister and her family will also be at Disney during part of the week. My mother would like to meet up with them for lunch or dinner on either Thursday or Saturday. We tried to explain to her that we should have made plans months ago as there may not be much available.

Would anyone have suggestions on where we should try to get a table for 11 at this late date? My sister doesn't want to go to EPCOT of Disney Hollywood Studios.

The children in the party will be ages 5 through 13.

Thanks

Call and see if Chef Mickeys is having lunch not sure if they are still serving it. If so that's a nice place to go.

A good option might be somewhere in Downtown Disney such as Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood

Otherwise why not try Rainforest over at Animal Kingdom as this tends to be less busy than the DTD one

I can relate the same thing just happened to me, MIL just told me that my dh's step sisters and familes will be joining us for the weekend in WDW!! I was able to get reservations for 15 ppl for dinner on Aug 15th at either Spoodles or Oliva's (MIL is staying at Old Key west) so it is possible just may not be your first choice of restaurant. We choose to go to Oliva's as they were staying there, they could seat us all at 1 table (it would have been 2 at Spoodles) and we have 7 kids so thought this would be a less busy restaurant. Am I thrilled about eating at Oliva's - not really, am I happy the whole family can get together for one meal absolutely!!!

My suggestion would be to call the groups disney dinning and try some of the less popular restaurants, the CM I spoke to was very nice and first checked all the character meals & more popular restaurants. Maybe try the restaurant at the resort you are staying at or Spoodles I was surprised that they were able to accommodate such a large group with such short notice.

Goodluck and enjoy your trip.

Allison
