My husband and I are going solo to Disney and meeting our 15 yr old daughter there whom is going with the school. We have a dining package but daughter does not, they have quick service vouchers which is considered a student discount. She will be joining us for our dinner at Prime Time. Is it possible for the three of us to have dinner and pay out of pocket for her meal and use our dining credits for our meal OR does everyone need to be on the same plan??

Thank you in advance!!!

We also have a friend that will be joining us for one day and I have added her to our breakfast reservation. Same thing! I am hoping we can pay out of pocket for her meal and use our credits for ours.

You an have a mixture of everything while dining. Just let your server know who will be using the dining plan credits and who is paying another way.
That's perfect! I thought that I read somewhere that everyone in your party has to have the dining plan when eating at a table service restaurant? :confused3 But I am happy to hear that is not the case!:flower:

Nope. I can vouch that I've eaten with dining plan and my parents didn't have it and we did it all week.

The everyone on the same plan applies only to your RESORT package reservation. If daughter was going to be in your room, she would have to be on the plan as well.

Traveling with our 2 yr grandson in March 2020. He doesn’t require a ticket yet but he is a good eater. Can a dining plan be purchased for him. Doubt he would want a sit down meal probably a kids meal . Can it be purchased.

He'd need to be aged up in the system, so he'd need park tickets.

In other words, you're far better off paying OOP for an occasional kid's meal

Back to the OP... I think it's helpful to consider the DDP as just a form of payment - you can mix and match it with other payment methods on the same check, it's just that the DDP payment can only cover specific parts of the bill (drink, entree, and dessert per credit used [plus appetizer on DxDP]) while other payment methods like cash or room charge can apply to any part of the bill.

I will add to the advice you’ve received that some places our GS was free under 3. Buffets or AYCE and a few others. Via Napoli was one. We were completely blown away!
