Dining Plan

I've been looking into this. We'll be at AKL, 2 adults, 3 nights. I think the new rate is $38 USD per night and this includes tip right? And I think we'll be staying on site for dinner, at the Boma, which I saw was $28 per person. We'll be going to AK and to Seaworld and then be back at the hotel for the evenings. I wonder if it's worth it, as dinners seem quite expensive, not sure about lunches and breakfasts.

Any input?

and maybe a counter service breakfast in the morning it will be worth it.

We just got back from Disney and did the dining plan. It was a LOT of food and we ended up with 7 snacks (out of 12) that went unused. I think that the price was good per person if you plan on eating table service meals each day. We are torn over whether or not to do the dining plan again. The biggest drawback for us was that the meals came with desserts and having little willpower, we ended up eating those delicious desserts each and every time. That's 2 desserts a day for people who rarely eat desserts at all. We felt stuffed all the time and I gained 5 pounds in one week. AAAAACK!!!

Haha oh yes I am VERY worried about gaining weight, considering I lost a bunch a couple of years ago! However, I've been to FL twice now and managed to not gain anything, so I'm hopeful. Plus, will be doing a lot of walking.

But I thought I read somewhere that AK doesn't have a breakfast option for the dining?

Donald's Breakfastosaurus for your Table Service meal. But if you're staying at AKL, you could have breakfast at Boma. Also, for dinners (well, really any meal) you're not restricted to the parks. Many Disney Resort restaurants participate, as to a couple of places at Downtown Disney.
