Trying to decide if dining plan will be worth it for us: ME :earsgirl: DH :earsboy: DD5 princess:
My DH does not eat any breakfast, so that meal will just be :earsgirl: & princess: .
We have usually only eatten at counter service meals at the park due to not wanting to spend that much time while we are at the parks eatting!!!
We usually do Chef Mickey's Character Dinner and Garden Grill Character Dinner and we have tickets to MVMCP on Decmber 1, 2005!
What do you think? Would we spend $80/ day on food? I can't remember how much we usually average on food when we have went before!
Please tell me Pros and Cons for anyone that has used the plan!

We typically eat most of our meals at the sit down and resort restaurants, so we require more than what the meal plan offers. What if you don't feel like having lunch or breakfast...do you feel obligated to eat since you already paid for it? We prefer to play it by ear, and any kind of "plan" doesn't really fit into our mode of WDW experience.

i'm seriously leaning toward the dining plan but know i will be adding some meals and sharing others and mixing it up a bit but overall i think we'll get our money's worth... if you are concerned you won't use all your TS credits, may i suggest the Hoop Dee Doo Revue? it's an awesome and amazing dinner show! we LOVE it!

also, we'll be on property the full day our dining plan starts (early a.m. check in) and the full day our dining plan ends (switching resorts for our last night) so we will have seven full days to use six days worth of dining... plus, i can imagine we'll split a counter meal for a snack (i.e. the day we do a late buffet breakfast ps but don't have a dinner ps 'til 7pm we'll order a burger and fries and dessert and drink and divvy it up for snack... i'll get the dessert ;) which is something to keep in mind as well)... if you check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com you can see for yourself if you'd eat the $80 worth/day...

DW,DD, and myself just returned from the Kingdom on Friday. The dining plan is W-O-R-T-H it!! Counter service meals ran an average of 40 bucks for us. Counter service just isn't burgers and fries. At Cosmic Ray's, I had the 1/2 Chicken and BBQ Ribs Combo with veggies, dessert, and drink. We used the table service for most of the character meals. Those ran from 70-95 bucks. Snacks ran 2-2.50 a piece. We figured on the way home that we easily saved over 400 bucks by using the plan. Also, Chef Mickey, Liberty Tree Tavern, Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot, all had great food and good character interaction. Cinderella's Royal Table was a huge disappointment. Food wasn't that good and the charaters rushed by. Hope this helps.

We were a bit on the fence as well. However, as our 90 day mark was coming closer, we re-analyzed it and found it would save us money. We haven't gone yet but we looked over the restaurants and figured what we'd probably eat and by doing so, we figure we'll save substantial money. My concern was that ds12 won't always be eating an adult meal and I'm trying :rotfl: to lose some weight. However, we still feel it's a better deal. I think what you have to do, is really take the time to figure out what and where your family will probably eat and do the math. We knew we didn't want CS restaurants all week for dinner, it's a huge savings.
