Help. We have never been to Universal and need advice.
We are going at the end of August. We will be staying 4 nights at PBH and going 5 days to the parks (with the 5 day passes). The is me, DH, DD-12 y.o., and Dd-9 y. o.

I originally was planning on eating an early lunch (11 ish) in the parks. Leave in the afternoon to go back to hotel to swim (maybe 2 ish). Have dinner at a City Walk restaurant (maybe 5ish). Then go back to the parks for the evening.

From what I have read here on the Disboards, 5 days is plenty to take it at a leisurely pace. Do you think this plan is a good one?

Should I make PSs? Is it ok to bring the girls to the Citywalk restaurants for dinner or should I plan on going at lunch. Do you think it may make more sense to go to the parks until we are hungry, eat lunch at a Citywalk restaurant and then swim and then go back to the parks and have dinner there?

Just want your opinions about what you guys do. I am trying to decide which AND how many 1/2 price certificates I want to buy. I was thinking of buying 5 cerificates (1 for each day there), but I also want to eat at Emeril's and Tchoup Chop.

Hi Maggie,

Five days is plenty to take everything at a liesurely pace and enjoy the pool. I'm sure you'll have trouble getting your girls to leave the PBH beach pool.

If you eat at early times, you should have no trouble as far as waiting. The only time we ever ran into trouble was trying to eat as the parks let out.

There are lots of families at the CW restaurants for dinner, even late dinners. The club scene doesn't start till later (and then only at certain clubs like Pat O'Brien's). But even when we were having a drink at Margaritaville (10 o'clock on a Sunday night), the restaurant was full of high school cheerleaders.

Your plan of eating lunch in the parks and going to CW for dinner sounds like a good one.

Enjoy your trip!

Maggie:

We were there June 2003 (HRH). Had no problem with our young ones (17,15,12) at CW places. In fact Margarittaville was a great time for them. The boys (me included) liked NBA.
Since your onsite I would advise using the "power of the room key" to make reservations for any dinners your planning. Even with the room key we waited awhile. We did have 7 in our party though.
I agree with ALEXANDNESSA that your 5 days will allow more than enough time to enjoy everything. Remember you'll have FOTL so your ride time waits will be short if any.

Enjoy !!

Royal Pacific here we come ..... June 7-11 2004:cool:

Where possible make a ps or reservation for your meals even at the hotels theres a lot of those key cards out there :jester:

Definately try for ressies, you can always cancel if you don't need them. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.
As far as Emerils and Tchoup Chop, definately eat at Tchoup Chop, it is beautiful and the food is great. We did not care for Emerils as much but that may have just been our taste.
