Just curious how many of you have tried the dining plan? I know that it is new, I read a little bit about it, was it worth it for you? We are planning a couple of nice sit down dinners, but I don't want to spend too much time sitting and eating. Thanks!

I used it last weekend on a trip with 3 friends, 4 nights. It was worth it for us. We had dinner at LeCellier, the bill came to $190 including tax & tip, so almost $50 each. The table service meal each day pretty much covered the $37.99. We stretched the counter service meal into the last day by having a large lunch at Crystal Palace the day before and not using counter service that day. One nice feature was that we didn't have to worry about splitting up the check since we all paid separate.

You need to consider if you plan to have a full table service meal each day. If you normally don't do that, then maybe it would not be worth it.

We used it in March 2005 and for us it was definitely worth it. For the three of us I remember one of our meals was $150 another $78. We got to do alot more TS than we would have without the DP> :cool1:

When I went to DW for my spring break my desire was to really enjoy myself and have some great meals - not all just fast & fried. When I got on AllEarsNet and looked at the menus of ALL the places to eat at each park and resort and DTD I knew for me it was worth getting the DDP. It ended up that I had fabulous food every day at a sit down meal where I was able to relax and rest my feet and the cost of the sit down meal was always more than what I paid for the whole day's meals so it was like getting a counter service meal with beverage and dessert and a snack for less than free each day. And I ate at places I wouldn't have wanted to spend that much money on if I hadn't used the DDP and as I said the food was awesome - not a bad meal once, but I had planned out where I wanted to go ahead of time so I wasn't trying to figure out what I wanted when I was hungry. DDP totally made my first trip to DW better than expected and I will definitely purchase it every time I go.

AS DebbieB said, as long as you will eat at least one table service meal per night of your stay, it will be worth it.

We just used it and enjoyed it. We actually used quite a few of our TS credits for lunch and it still paid for itself I'm sure.

We love TS meals. At lunch it is a nice refreshing break from the parks. At dinner, it is a relaxing way to end the busy day. My concern was using the counter service meals up. We used them all but I have to do more research before our next trip. My DH wants to do the plan again.

We loved it but now I'm trying to lose the weight I gained. We saved money, no doubt, but it is so tempting to overeat......and we didn't need to eat it all to save.

You will not go hungery that is for sure. Keep in mind that even on CS meals, you get a dessert. On Table service meals you get an appetizer, main meal and dessert...PER PERSON. Considering an appetizer is usually big enough for everyone to snack on..imaging each individual having one. Same thing with desert.

Unreal amounts of food.

I LOVE it.

We gave the plan a whirl in December--not DVC--extended family group, etc.. We found it really fit the way we eat when we are at WDW staying DVC. We usually grab a CS in whatever park we are in, the kids are older so we might or might not take a break--usually we don't. A TS--hey it's my vacation as well. Snack daily is more than we usually have but gives the kids more flexibility and allows them to stretch their allowance better. I always make breakfast in the room becasue I don't like to give up valuable AM park time to eat. In addition there is more flexibility as everyone can eat while they wait for the shower or after showering.
I was glad when I learned we would be able to get it on DVC, and I added it to the reservation since it worked the way we eat.

I know you are suppose to buy it for all days that you are there. What about your check out day? I know we don't go to the parks that day.

When you buy the dining plan it is for the number of nights you are staying. So if you eat 1TS the first night and one each night after....there wouldn't be any TS left on your last day. You would probably have a CS left that you could use for lunch. We had the dining plan last September and it was so much food and we intend to get it again this year. It is well worth it.

As much food as you get when you use the dining plan, you'll probably be happy not to have another table service meal left. You definately won't go hungry on the dining plan.
