Hi All,
We are visiting Universal for the first time in August. Is the dining plan worth the price? Are there too many limitations on where to eat? Appreciate the insight!

Counter service meal deal can be worth it based on how you use the snack and beverage coupon

Other dining plan, no

If u are planning a $6.49 Frozen butterbeer plus a meal in Three Broomsticks/Leaky Cauldron, it can be very worth it.

For $40, we get 2 rib platters to split between the 4 of us, a pumpkin fizz, 2 snacks (cheesecake/butterbeer/big pink donut) and fresh squeezed lemonade/Starbucks iced coffee. A decent deal!

Is there any way to extend the freestyle cups over the days you are there? Or do you need to purchase a new cup every day.

You can add extra days I think the price was $6.99 per day

The refillable mugs can be brought back for future use in the parks

This would be the character mugs/containors that are bought in the parks

We bought the QS one day when we had breakfast at leaky cauldron. The meal part covered the breakfast and a drink. Then you get an extra drink and a snack credit worth about $5. Theses can be used upto 14 days later. The snack included the big pink donut in simpsons or an icecream scoop in harry potter florean forescue.

The childs was especially worth it, the cost of the QS was the same as a child's breakfast alone.

You can buy at the register or in advance.

The table service dining plan isn't..It doesn't include any of the resort restauants and has restrictions

We did the dining plan when they first started it. We got one quick service, one table service and also an extra drink and a snack.
Overall we weer happy with it. we used the snack credits to eat at Cinnabon for breakfast and the extra soda we got in bottle form and took back to our room.

Yes there were restrictions as where you could eat but we liked our choices and eating in Citywalk we got a really nice choice of desserts. The only issue we had was that at the time there was no counter service places to eat out of the parks with the plan. I don't know if that has changed or not.
