Dining plan without a package?

We have done the dining plan for the past 2 years and loved it....however, on our next trip, we will not be buying park tickets ( have them left from the last 2 trips) Can we still get the dining plan if we book room only?

You could rent a DVC room and have the owner purchase (you pay at check in, they have to request it for you) the DDP.

You couls buy AP for one person, and do your ressies under that person's name. There are discounts on rooms with AP, DP can be bought with AP and no other tickets, free parking, discounts on other things, etc. If the math works out for you, this may be an option.

Can you get the Dining Plan for everyone in a room if only one person has the AP? I was under the impression that everyone would need to have an AP.

Just the one who makes the ressies under his/her name, I am pretty sure.

The AP dining plan package requires one adult AP at checkin. (One could not buy a child's AP and use that to book the dining package).

As mentioned, your other options are:

Book a package with a one-day ticket and use that ticket along with the ones you already have; or
Rent points from a DVC member.

Only DVC members can get the dining plan without purchasing a package. The AP reservation is a dining/room package and is subject to payment and cancellation rules that go along with a package. The usual way to get the dining plan is to book a room/tickets/dining package.
