My boys will both be under 3 and Disney does not offer dining for them. Has anyone experienced dining on the plan with kids under 3? They told me they can eat free at the buffets and I plan on paying for kids meals if needed for anything else. What about Ohana? How does the family style work?

I haven't dined with the dining plan but I have done restaurants, including buffet and family style ones with my kids when they were under 3. At buffets you just go up and get them a plate of food - they eat free. At family style places they bring enough extra to let them eat what is brought to the table.

I am guessing that children 2 and under are treated the same whether the parents have the dining plan or no.

Our DD has been to Ohana twice under 3 - she could eat what was served and they also offered to bring her childern's fare.......we were not charged for her.

Now at CG we ordered off the child's menu and paid for her meal.

but at the buffets you don't pay....
CRT breakfast she got her own plated meal as well...free...

I have always asked for an extra plate and no additional charges applied.

With the recent rumours of charging children under 3 at places like the Spirit of Aloha, (thread a few days ago) I said that my 2 yo was 3, paid for a 1-day ticket, and got dining credits for him. Solved our eating out problems for the price of a one-day ticket.!!
