At LeCellier and 50's Prime Time cafe we were asked if we were on the DDP before we were ever seated? Does anyone know why they ask that then and did we get a differant menu? Not complaining, just curiuos.

I don't have an answer but have a related question. When I called to make reservations, before they would answer about availability I was asked whether we were using the DDP. Is Disney now going the way of the airlines and only allowing a limited number of reservations for DDP guests? Hmmm...

They only ask becasue they need to inform your server that your on the plan and while on the plan you are allowed only so many items per meal. So it's more just to keep the server and the guest on the same page.

I just got off the phone with reservations and they confirmed this. (Feeling slightly guilty here about being so suspicious.) It's all good...

Hi

The waiters at P Time were really good about the DP. They would make sure that we got everything we were entitled to. Such as drinks, they told us about specialty drinks that we did not even know we were allowed to have.

At some restaurants (Teppanyaki), our server told us that the only beverages that could be purchased with DDP were soft drinks, coffee, tea, etc.

At Le Cellier, our server pointed out the signature non-alcoholic beverages in addition to the above.

It may depend on the server....it may depend on the restaurant.

It's for your benefit.

As others have pointed out, it's to help you make the appropriate choices, as many guests get confused on the DDP and then blame the servers when it's not what they expect.

No, the CM checking you in was not going and whispering into the ear of your waitperson, "They're on the DDP, just get their order, dump the food, and go..."

:lmao: Too funny! I would hope no server would do that to us, DDP or not, since we tend to tip over & above for good service. I know, I know the tip is included but a little extra doesn't hurt for a really good experience.

I've recently been told by a close friend who frequents Disney that they also ask you what resort you are staying at and if you are staying at Value resorts they give you a crummy table. Has this ever happened to anyone?
