Another question about exchanging. So we are seriously considering exchanging WorldMark points through RCI to stay at SSR for a week next June. We are not renting points from another DVC member. I know that DVC members can purchase the dining plans separately (w/o a package) and that they can purchase them also for people who are renting their points, BUT in our situation, could we purchase a dining plan? If so, I assume we would do it through DVC and not RCI. Thanks in advance.

When you get your confirmation # from RCI call member services at DVC and tell them you are an exchange....You will pay for the Dining plan on arrival. Everyone in your party has to purchase the same plan.

You can add it up to 48 hours in advance of checking in. (We did). They don't charge you for it until you check in but you are not allowed to change your mind once you reach the 48 hour mark. We were not required to purchase any kind of ticket with the dining plan and they tell you your total amount including the $95 Disney exchange fee when you order the dining plan. The only disadvantage was that our room keys did not have the DDP typed onto them so we were challanged a few times as to if we really did have the plan. A couple cashiers actually called our resort to check for sure. We were told at the concierge desk that it was because we were RCI exchangers and VWL had no way of reprinting the keys to include it in the writing on the front.
