Dining plan ? Using sit down meal for counter service?

Does anyone know if you would be able to use a sit down credit at counter service places? I just can't see eating at a sit down every day with my kids. They don't eat much and not even a character breakfast keeps their attention long enough to enjoy a sit down meal. LOL!!!

Thanks in advance.

Lisa...
If you do this (and I am not even sure if they do accept it) ... then in my opinion, the Dining Plan would be a waste of money for you.
Even with two counter service meals, and the snack would not add up to $35.00 in most cases.
I think (and please correct me if I am wrong), you would be better off paying cash for your meals.

I don't have kids, but I would think a sit down meal would be a nice break. Just to sit and rest from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Trust me, sit down meals with two little kids is the furthest thing from restful!! LOL Seriously last time we went on vacation the restaurants were the most stressful parts (only stressful parts actually) of the whole time. My oldest might be in the right age range for some of the over the top places like Prime Time or Whispering Canyon, but those don't seem restful to me at all. Counter service and finding a table out of the way is all we need. We're going in Sept so I think that should work out.

Catrin,

I wouldn't pay full price for the meal plan. I was trying to figure out if annual pass room rates or a regular package with free dining plan would be best for us. The "free" dining plan package would cost us about $400 more (for 8 days) if we went with that instead of the the annual pass room we have booked.

Thank you for your replies. :goodvibes

We have a DS6 and DS2. The last time we went to WDW we did 4 sit down means (in 5 days in the parks). I definatlly recomend this. You can do mostly character meals which keeps the kids entertained, it is air conditions and is a GREAT relaxation from the hectic park. Really is the only time you can really relax.

Lisa....
I am sure you will get the correct response.... but I am leaving in 9 days, and will ask for you .... if you don't get the official word!
With the FREE dining plan.. that may work out for you! WOW>> you are right, that could be great if it works for you!
I will let you know!

I'll answer. Yes you can use a sit down for a counter service. You can trade down not up.
