Dining Plan Upgade/Strategy

Hi

Does anyone know if I book a package through BJ Wholesale club, Expedia, or basically anyone other than Disney Destinations, if I can either add the delux dinning right before I go or upgrade from regular dining to delux. (BJ's does have the regular dining package)

I'm just trying to buy myself some time to pay off our trip. I figured since it will be cheaper to either exclude or choose the cheaper dining, my cost prior to 45 day mark will be cheaper, and once I get more money, upgrade the week before or something like that.

If anyone can suggest another strategy please do.

No you can not but you can book a package without the plan thru Disney and add the dining plan closer to when you arrive.

YOU can't, because until you check in, whatever travel agency or company you used owns your reservation. The agency can - but it doesn't seem that any of the ones you are researching assign specific agents to specific customers, so you might well have trouble finding a person able/willing to work on the upgrade.

Now, if you use a LOCAL bricks & mortar travel agency - Vacation Outlet, AAA, Lucinda's HomeTown Travel, etc. - or a Disney Travel Specialist from this board's sponsor Dreams Unlimited, or from Small World Travel, you have a relationship with a specific person who WILL work to help you get the trip you want and can afford.

ok, but if I book through Disney I can add it 72 hrs before travel? Is that right?

Yes - as long as you have a package, either booked up front, or by changing your room-only reservation TO a package - either way, by adding park passes to your reservation.
