it's always like this

EPCOT and DTD restaurants don't show up on the list until the end of the year.

the 2013 dining plan official PDF was last updated on November 29th 2012 . So I would expect the full list to be known by late november/early december 2013 for 2014

As per chmurf's post, late November, usually December, the rest are added. There have been very few changes to the participating restaurants on the DDP list over the years and more have been added than taken away so I think it would be fairly safe to base a loose plan around the current list and tweak later in the unlikely event of any major changes.

The ones that are missing are operating participant restaurants and they re-negotiate their contracts every year and can not be added to the list until contracts are signed hence there is alway a preliminary list and a final list in December.

As others have said plan from the 2013 list and just check once the 2014 list is final. Should be fine :)

I totally get what you're saying with this. Many people actually pay for the dining plan. I know that we are spoilt here with very few black out periods in the UK for FD but we have actually paid for the DDP before and I can assure you, we made sure that we used up every last credit at check out.

That's a good point - if you paid for the DP then you'd be pretty miffed to not be able to use a sizeable chunk of it.

Yet of course, even if you get FD, you're paying for it anyway - it's just rolled up into the total price.

We're going in November and have upgraded from free QS to the standard DP. However, after many years of staying on-site, we've booked a villa for next year - we just don't think the included FD carries the same value anymore and have begun to resent being 'forced' to take it.

I personally will stick to the qsdp if its free (sort of free anyway) but know what you are saying. We may book through the US site and try to get a room only discount and see what that comes out at. When we pay oop we just don't eat that much really and feel like we 'should' eat loads more when we get it free. :)
