Dining Plan & room with pin code?

I know I should know the answer to this, but I've looked through the FAQ's and can't find it.

If I book a room with a 30% off pin code and also buy my tickets through Disney, can I add the DDP? Or is a room with a pin code not considered part of a Magic Your Way package?

If your PIN discount applies to a room/tickets package, then yes, you can add the dining plan to the package.

If it applies only to a room-only reservation, you cannot add the dining plan. The plan can be added only to a room/tickets package except for special circumstances, like the military discount.

If you must buy the room and tickets separately, even if you buy both through Disney, you do not have a package reservation and cannot add the dining plan.

Very rarely does disney offer a room ONLY pin code. They usually have a package equivalent code but some CM's dont know how to get the other codes.

We usually stay at value resorts or POR in one room, but I really would like to upgrade for our next trip even if it means waiting a little longer. But, we've used the DDP the last 2 years and it worked out well for our family and we'd like to do it again if possible.

I just changed my reservation from a "room only" to a "package with dining" with what I thought was a room only 40% code. No problems.

I added dining to our trip in January...had been booked with a room discount code. The CM had no problem adding tickets to make it a Magic Your Way package, and then added dining and I still got the 30% off the room.
