OK, need your wisdom all you Dining Plan experts! We will be staying for 5 nights at the Swan & Dolphin in October, and know I can't get the dining plan for those days. BUT...I am renting points on the Boardwalk Villas on each end of our trip (so we can get Magical Express). So, we will spend one night on each end at the Boardwalk Villas.

Questions:
1) Can I add the dining plan onto my reservation myself or do I have to work through the person I rented points from? I.E. Can I deal with Disney directly?

2) It says on my reservation(s) that I am staying for 1 night, 2 days. If I get the dining plan, can I get the dining plan for 2 days? alternatively, as the first day we don't get in until 11pm, can I get the plan for only 1 day on each reservation?

Am I confusing everyone yet? Thanks for your feedback.

You have to work through the member you are renting from. DVC Member Services will only deal with the member. Also, the DDP must be paid for as soon as you add it to the reservation, so you'll need to arrange payment with the member since you do not have access to the reservation yourself.

You can only get the dining plan per night you are staying. The credits you get will be good for both days (the day you check in and the day you check out) but you will receive only one night's worth of credits.

I don't suggest calling WDW-DINE to ask about DVC. WDW-DINE is good for booking reservations, but they don't have a lot of accurate information about anything else. DVC is also a separate system from WDTC, which books room packages. If you want info about DVC, your best source of information is probably the DVC member from whom you plan to rent points. There are also lots of DVC members on the DIS DVC boards.

Thanks for your help. I was able to contact the member who made the reservation and he was able to add the dining. And the good news is because I had two separate reservations I was able to get the normal Disney Dining Plan for the first night and Deluxe Dining Plan for the last night - so I can spread 3 meals and 2 snacks over 2 days!!

Thanks you.
