Dining plan question

We have purchased the disney dining plan and wanted to take the kids (dd8, dd3,ds2) to sci-fi, but we want to go for lunch ( have heard that you should stick with burgers and fries at sci-fi) . The dining plan only lists this restaurant as table service, which I had rather not use for a lunch... can it be considered counter service at lunch or would I just be better to pay for it out of pocket... I hope this is not too confusing.. Any advice would be appreciated...

While they are not on the menu for dinner, if you want a burger, the kitchen will be happy to make you one. Just ask!
