Dining plan question

Not sure if this is the right place to post... but here we go.

We have free dining, and we are going with another family. The other family has 3, and we have 5. So we put one of our kids in the other room so we can stay at Pop. I just realized that my daughters food is going to be under the other family's dining because they are in the same room. Does anyone know if there is any way to get her under ours even though she isn't in our room? I don't want to sit on hold forever to ask, so I thought I would check here first.

Thanks!

I cannot imagine that you would be able to switch her dining to your room. Never heard of anyone trying it, so I'm not saying it can't be done, but I would be floored if Disney allowed it (or even could do it if they wanted).

Are you guys generally going to be together when you eat? If so, it shouldn't be too hard to even things out.

Yeah, I am guessing that they won't do it, but I thought I would post and see if anyone had any ideas... We will likely eat together most of the time.... I think I am just going to try to use up her credits for all of our meals in the first day or two, then we don't have to worry about it. I don't want to try to keep track all week.

When we traveled with our parents we had two rooms and 1 of our kids was in their room. All of our dining plans were combined. So we were able to use her credits with ours. This was many years ago so I don't know if they do that anymore. Whenever we went out to eat we only had to give 1 Card (before magic bands) to pay for everyone. Not sure if you want to do that or if they can do it.

Also what you can do is the first meal - they can pay for your whole family with her credits so you don't have to keep track. Again they did this many years ago - not sure if they do it anymore. We don't get the DDP anymore.

Sorry, I wish I was more of a help.

I am not sure if this would work, but wouldn't her credits be on her magic band? For her meal, you could ask to scan her band, and take the others off yours if you are separated from the other family. As long as you have the pin, they should be able to do that. Just a thought.

Dining credits are pooled by room. Since OP's daughter is in their friends room her Dining Credits are lumped in with that families. If the daughter's MB was scanned for Dining Credits those credits would be pulled/used from the pool for the room she is registered in.

Yes, this exactly. I will just try to use the credits that are hers early in the trip for all of us so we don't have to keep track. I am sure it will work out... it would just be easier if it weren't together. I sure hope all of our credits aren't lumped into one... I have to be sure to check on that!

No, there isn't. If you have her magic band, you can use it to pay for her meals, but her meals will be on a different bill than yours. You'd need the PIN number.

All credits are pooled by room. Your room has one pool of credits. The other room has another pool of credits. Anybody registered in a room can use any credit allocated to that room. There was a poster awhile back who had a large group in one villa, and one of their party members used up all the snacks allocated to the entire room. Make sure you know how many of the other room's credits belong to your daughter.
