okay well two (I think).

1) We are heading back down to Disney April 5-10, checking in on Sunday and leaving Friday morning of the 10th. If we get the dining plan, will we have credits for the 10th? We basically will wake up, pack, and leave on the 10th so I'm wondering how to use up those credits.......

2) We are tryign to convince Grandma (my mom) to come along. We are staying in a studio (irrelevant) but does she have to have the Dining Plan along with us. I think my mom will freak out at the cost and she doesn;t eat a lot. She's there to enjoy time with her granddaughter and her addition will be a last minute thing. I've already made some ADRs for a party of 4 in case she comes, but now I'm worried that she'll have to be on the plan if we are on it.

3) If she does come along, do I need to contact MS before we go or can I just arrive at the hotel and say "Oh we have an extra?"

Hmmm her coming may be a headache..............sigh.

You will have DDP for each of the five nights you'll be staying. The credits will be effective as soon as you check in, and will be valid until midnight after checkout.

Yes, Grandma will have to be on the plan for all five nights of your stay...even if she's only actually there one night. All guests on the reservation have to get DDP for all nights of the reservation.

It's probably a good idea to call MS 2-3 days prior to your arrival and add her. You might be okay adding her at checkin, but why risk it? They're not going to let you leave her off -- if there's a problem, they won't let any of you get DDP.

FYI, if "Grandma" has never been to Disney, don't plan on her enjoying it much during that extremely crowded week. She might enjoy a trip more if you wait and take her at a less busy time of year.

Oh Grandma has been to Disney countless times, her last visit was in 1997 or so when we stayed at the Disney Villas and she took classes at the Institute. It was my family's "last" family Disney trip whiel I was still in college. Crowds don't faze her.....after all her town (Savannah, GA) is about to fill up with St. Patty's Day party goers....and guess who works in downtown Savannah....yup Grandma.

Just check my email too.....here we are renting a studio and she's askign abotu getting my aunt and her husband and my cousin and his wife to come over from Tampa for a night.....arrrrrgggggghhhhh. Let's not even mention that my husband is tryign to get his dad to come down from the panhandle for a day............oh geez. Asking g'ma to come is mre trouble than it's worth.

Not really. Grandma will have fun...either with her granddaughter, or with the extended family she's invited on your vacation!!!

There is one secret to making this the extended family vacation of a lifetime. Have each of them decide what they want to do, when they want to come, how they want to eat...and then give them Disney Central Reservations' phone number!

Don't you dare step into the middle of THAT mess! They'll drive you nuts with changes in plans, and then cancel at the last minute, leaving your account in a mess.

Oh don't worry, I just re-read her email and she's going to give me an answer in a few days. From there, I'll remind her that we are in a studio, that's all we have points for to rent this year (not true, we are using DP and haven't even touched this year's UY points), but still.

If she doesn't come, then it will be okay for the husband's father to come down for a night fromt he panhandle. Our daughter is 20 months old, and aside from pics, the hubster's step-mother has never seen our daughter in person. That's a change I can handle, and we were planning for that anyway..........I wonder if my mom even understands that for my aunt/unlce/cousin to come they would have to book a place of their own, and ummm our trip is only 3 weeks away.....

Getting back to your original question, just keep in mind that if you have someone join you in your villa for only one night, you either have DDP for everyone for all five nights of the trip...or nobody can get DDP.

If they get their own room, obviously that doesn't apply.
