Dining Plan Question

We leave in 5 days for our first trip "home" to SSR.

Problem is, DS8 and his dad may not be able to join us. We may not know until the last minute.

Right now, our family of 4 is booked with the DDP. What happens if they don't make the trip? Do I still have to pay when I check in?

Alternatively, if I just book 2 of us, and they end up coming after all, what happens?

Hope they can make it but I actually pay for the plan when I arrive so you should be able to adjust accordingly. If they do end up joining you a day or two late - I don't see why Disney wouldn't accommodate you - afterall that wouldn't be very Disneyesque. Here's hopin you'll pay for 4 on day 1 .

Actually, you have to notify MS at least 48 to 72 hours ahead of time of any changes. If you have it for four and they don't go, you may have to pay for all four of you. Call MS and see what they say.

You need to remove them from the plan 48 hours prior to your arrival or you will be expected to pay even if they are not there. I would remove them and pay cash for their meals if they show up.

Since the dining plan requires everyone to be on the plan, if you book 2 and check-in with 4, I think they will force you to add them.

I'd change like they were not going then if they do go, notify them at check in. They may or may not require you to add them but it would be their choice. That way you'd be honest and still have options. Worst case scenario is they don't let you add them and you have to pay OOP for a portion of each meal.
