Hi folks. When you are tipping on the DP meals, are you tipping on the face value or just anything out of pocket, not covered with the dining credits? Thanks!

Always tip on pre-discount (in this case, DP) amount, regardless of where you are.

The total amount on what you would have spent regardless of the dining plan. The waiter still does the same job regardless of how you pay.

As you would if you paid for the whole meal w/o credits. (tip on the pre-tax amount)
Once we had the same friendly server at Chefs de France as our previous trip. This time, she was about 7-8 mo pregnant. As the first time, she did an excellent job. When we got our check, the previous patron's slip was accidentally still in there, stuck behind ours. We noted that the party (on the DDP) only tipped her $5 on a dinner bill for 6 people!!! She worked just as hard serving that table as she would if there wasn't a DDP!! I had my DS give her extra from us!

The general 'rule of thumb' at any place offering a dining discount is tip based on the price without the discount. In practical terms, it might only be a few dollars different so I don't see it as that big of a deal. Typically people tip based on the quality of the service rather than some exact amount.
