Dining Plan Question about credits and reservation

Hi Everyone,
I am headed to WDW next week (!!!!!), and am having a bit of confusion about the dining plan.

I am going to be staying onsite for 12 nights, but have a 10 day park ticket. My dining plan is the deluxe dining plan. My question is....does this mean I can only use the plan on the 10 days of my park ticket? Or can I use it on any of the 12 nights I am there? How many credits does this give me?? I am guessing 30 credits per person for meals...Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Credits are per night. So 12 nights, 3 credits per person - 36 credits per person for the trip.

Tickets are only needed to create a package (allowing you to purchase the plan). Many purchase just a 1 day ticket to get the plan.

I hope you have lots of reservations made for most of your meals already...restaurants will be packed (unless you're arriving after New Years?)

Have a wonderful time...I'm jealous...12 days in winter! Would love to get away from the cold for that long!

the ticket makes it confusing. Disney sells up to a 10 day ticket, the next is an Annual Pass. If you want to do more park days, you can upgrade your 10 day pass to an AP. The AP is good for 1 year from date of activation.

Are you considering going back anytime within a year? If so, an AP may be worth the upgrade

Tricia is right about the meal credits. You have LOTS of dining in your future

Just make sure that you don't plan on eating IN the parks on the other 2 days. We are going for 6 nights but only have 4 days of park tickets. We're doing a Chef Mickey's (no ticket required since it's at the Contemporary) and a few other meals out of the parks. There are a lot of options you can choose from!
