Dining Plan Offer Extended, low response?

I just saw that Disney extended into July the date you could book free DDP. Does anyone know if this is due to a lower response and less bookings than Disney was hoping for?

Do you think they may extend the actual free DDP dates further into October?

They've extended the booking window before - but they've never extended the stay dates.

Not sure but there is no availability at several of the resorts during my dates (Aug 19-27) and even when I checked room only there wasn't anything.
