Dining Plan no longer accepted!!!!

I'm assuming that the places are still accepting the DDP through the end of the year. Yes on the website is says no, but on MDE under details about my dining reservations it says "Select Dining Plans Accpeted" and has this list

2014 Premium Package Meals 1
2014 Platinum Package Meals 1
2014 Deluxe Dining Meals 1
2014 Table Service Meals - Adult 1
2014 Table Service Meals - Child 1

So I'm thinking I'm on the side of everyone says you'll be fine

I think part of the issue is that most restaurants are showing "Dining Plan entitlements" for both 2014 and 2015... and it looks like the character dining will no longer be on the plan for 2015. In any case, I just spoke with a Cast Member, as we have an ADR at Crystal Palace in 2 weeks. They told me that the dining plan WILL be accepted. They also said that IT was aware of the website issues, and they were working on a fix for it. I have a feeling someone in IT let the cat out of the bag a little early... that, or they don't have the contracts figured out yet. Though it's interesting that non-character meals seem to all be showing that they are on the DDP for the next two years.

Doubtful. Disney makes money off of the dining plan. Taking the Disney owned restaurants off doesn't make any sense.

Contracts don't even start being negotiated until late in the year. I don't think there is any chance character meals won't be back on next year. It's more than likely just another IT issue to toss into the bucket.

I understand that. I just find it interesting that the ONLY places showing this "glitch" are the character meals... though stranger things have happened with this website.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me if Disney releases a NEW dining plan for 2015, with a focus on character dining. That would really bring in the $$$

Nothing is on the dining plan for 2015 yet. That won't happen until the package rates are released.

I imagine the character meals have the same coding for the dining filters which is why they're all being affected by the glitch.

I am honestly still a little freaked out about this - we are about to pay roughly $1000 ahead of time and to get there and it not be accepted....I did call and they did say the character dining is still on the dining plan, can someone hug me and tell me it will be ok and to go ahead and book the dining plan????

Do it! Disney is not going to change the rules mid-year to eliminate Disney owned and operated restaurants from the extremely popular Disney dining plan. The brochure clearly lists the participating restaurants, and while it does have a "subject to change" clause, that is at more likely to happen with other restaurants that are owned or operated by outside companies than those that are entirely Disney. Have faith, Disney is great at customer service and knows what it's guests want, and they will not pull the rug out from guests that have already committed mid year. It will be ok... With all the issues they have had on the MDE website, I don't even get excited if something seems wrong there.

I actually called because it showed just what you saw. He says they were having technical issues with the dining plan. No worries.

I also talked to a CM who said they were just having difficulty and have been trying to fix it. He said not to worry and said everything from the brochure is what can be used for the Dining Plan.

Believe me. Disney will NOT eliminate Disney-operated restaurants from the dining plan.

I can't believe anyone who comes to this site, who has to know the vast number of issues on the Disney website would jump to the conclusion that the dining plan is discontinued rather than the website has yet another glitch. Honestly now, which do you really think is more likely? How can you seriously even entertain the idea that the website is correct? It's wrong more than it's right

There's going to be 20 more threads about this over the next 3 days... I can feel it.

I really wish we had a like button here.

If I had a dollar for every call I took yesterday regarding this I'd no longer need to be a Dine agent.

Guess if anything it does show that people do read. Sadly, they read an unreliable website but at least they are reading.

I've tried to answer the question at least 50 times in the same threads... I'm giving up :faint:

Well, I went from horrified to relieved in the space of two minutes. Thank you for always being ahead of my curve, fellow DISers! :cheer2:

Just wondering if this glitch has anything to do with the offer being posted in the UK for 2015. Our free dining for next year is now showing that next year's free plan for value resorts is breakfast only. We did wonder when it was launched if they would rule out the pricier breakfasts as an option on that plan. Just wondered if they could be fooling about with the system to try and sort that out???? Would make sense just to offer the cheaper breakfasts if they are going to a breakfast only plan in addition to the other three plans.

Right now, Disney latino, that includes Mexico, is free Breakfast only.....:scared:
