Dining Plan no longer accepted!!!!

I just checked for 1900 Park Fare Dinner in latter September. Though on the disney website on the right it says no dining plan - if you follow it through as if you were reserving you will see a place to click on plans available - includes table service (DDP)

I noticed it too - was checking Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace (both say no DP) - but Ohana is still taking the dining plan so I do think it's a glitch.

I think Disney needs to seriously consider getting rid of their IT department and contract all of that work out to Amazon Web Services. They really need to get a far more robust computer system than they currently have. If the Amazon servers operated like the Disney ones they would be out of business. Amazon does a far better job running computer system than Disney does. Disney should stick to their core competency which is running amusement parks. In that business they are second to none.

This exactly. Every time there is a big draw on the system it crashes in some way, shape or form. When Free dining or another great discount goes out to the public or something else that will be extremely popular there are horrible issues with the computer system.

I really wish they would either farm it out or put the money into that it so desperately needs to run smoothly.

I checked this morning and the website still shows no DDP for most of the character breakfasts.

So stop checking the website and go off of the brochure.

I understand it's annoying the website is inaccurate, but since we KNOW they're included and they're listed on the brochure it's really not something to worry about or stress over.

Restaurant contracts are set through the end of the year. Nothing is changing until then, particularly with the restaurants owned by Disney.

There is no 2015 brochure out yet, right? It's clear that these buffets are a part of the DP this year (though the brochure does say 'Disney dining plan locations are subject to change without notice') but I am wondering if they won't be in 2015. They need to have 2015 info set up soon (on the ADR website) as it's nearing the 180 day ADR window for January 1. It really doesn't matter to me as we never do DP nor do we do too many character buffets anymore but I would be excited to have less busy character buffets when we do book them.

I read this on another board and someone called Disney and they said it is an error on the site and those restaurants are still part of the DDP, at least through this year.

Thank you gawrsh2008, this is very helpful. This will be the first time my son and his family will be going with the DP and when I speak of it he looks at me like I have 3 heads. Have a magical day.

2015 won't come out until December of this year. The brochure for 2014 came out a few days into January this year.

On the Disney website it says that dining plans are not accepted. This is under Akershus when you look it up for info to book it. I don't see how it is possible for them to change this all of the sudden...

Disney does have "Subject to change at any time" listed on the website and brochure.

Maybe the "glitch" was on purpose.

Of course they do to cover their butts. They have that listed on any possible thing.

It's really not that big of a deal. They aren't going to take their own restaurants off of their own dining plan.

Just wondering if this glitch has anything to do with the offer being posted in the UK for 2015. Our free dining for next year is now showing that next year's free plan for value resorts is breakfast only. We did wonder when it was launched if they would rule out the pricier breakfasts as an option on that plan. Just wondered if they could be fooling about with the system to try and sort that out???? Would make sense just to offer the cheaper breakfasts if they are going to a breakfast only plan in addition to the other three plans.

I think part of the issue is that most restaurants are showing "Dining Plan entitlements" for both 2014 and 2015... and it looks like the character dining will no longer be on the plan for 2015.

In any case, I just spoke with a Cast Member, as we have an ADR at Crystal Palace in 2 weeks. They told me that the dining plan WILL be accepted. They also said that IT was aware of the website issues, and they were working on a fix for it.

I have a feeling someone in IT let the cat out of the bag a little early... that, or they don't have the contracts figured out yet. Though it's interesting that non-character meals seem to all be showing that they are on the DDP for the next two years.

The dining plan IS accepted at all Disney-operated restaurants (and most of those that aren't). If you are seeing that the DDP is not accepted at the character restaurants, all of which are owned and operated by Disney (with the sole exception of Garden Grove buffet at the Swan hotel, which does not accept the dining plan) then you are experiencing a computer glitch. There is NO WAY that restaurants operated by Disney will just stop accepting the dining plan.
