In 5 weeks we will be returning to Disney have not been since 2006. We will be with a grand gathering group. Also we are trying the dining plan for the first time. My family consists of myself, dh, dd(13), ds(18). I have a few questions to make sure I understand the plan, also I am trying to figure up how much extra cash to have for the tips.

1. I understand we will be charged 18% because of a large group. But is Tax included in the dining plan or do we have to pay that out of pocket as well?

2. Also we have booked 8 TS meals and our plan will only allow 7 I am wanting to know which place would be the best to pay out of pocket.

I think it would be the San Angel for lunch but I want others opinions. We had considred our dd sharing a plate the day we eat at San Angel she does not care much for the real mexican food.

One more thing I did forget is that the day we eat breakfast at the GF that will only be four of us so we will not have the 18% the other dining days we will.

Here are the following ADR's we have
50's Prime Time for supper
Crystal Palace for lunch
Ohana's for character breakfast
San Angel for lunch
Chef Mickeys for supper
LTT for character meal
GF 1900 Park Fare character breakfast
Teppan (japan) for supper

Thanks  for all your help I have learned so much by coming to these boards and we have been to Disney several times and I am still learning. :dance3:

Hi.
You will have to pay tip out of pocket (unfortunately!) I wish they didnt change that! I figure about $250 for our trip in tips.
We've always paid the character breakfasts out of pocket when on the regular dining plan. Ohana is generally the cheapest.

Hope that helps! OH, I dont know but i dont think they'd let your dd share off your plate at the buffets. I'd find out.

I am sorry I went back and re read what I had orgianlly posted and I had made a mistake so I corrected it sorry for the problem. I understand she cant share at the buffets I was just asking at San Angel she might share since that is not a buffet unless since 2006 it has changed.

So is the tax on a meal included in the the DP or is that paid out of pocket also.

thank you for your help

We had considred our dd sharing a plate since she does not eat that much at lunch and neither do I. But if on that day for some reason we are both supper hungry and she does not want to share which is our best bet.

? 1. Tax is included.
? 2. I probably go with a lunch. Ck The menu on the board you can ck the prices to see what's better.

go to allears, net and look through the prices and find which one is cheapest.

Thank you for your help I will do that. Plus our plans have changed since that post this afternoon. We were trying to find a way to squeeze in Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Since this will be our 5th trip to WDW and my kids are teens and we have never did the other. So we decided to cancel two days and come to WDW later and put that money toward US and IofA.

If anyone can PM me on tips for US and IofA I would appreciate it I know this is not the place to ask but Iam new to figuring out these boards.
