We just returned from Disney World and had a fabulous time! We had the dining plan - so much food! However, we added up all of our receipts (we kept a total before they gave us the "zeroed" out receipt), and we WOULD have spent $1400 on food alone! We used the snack options on breakfast items - muffins, doughnuts, croissants, cereal, poptarts, etc., the counter service for lunch and the table service for dinner. We got there before the first of the year, so our kids were able to eat off of the adult counter service meals and were able to order one adult table service meal. However, even if they ate the kids meals all of the time, we still would have had more than enough food! We aren't used to eating a dessert with every meal, much less an appetizer, too! However, if you are considering getting the dining plan, it is well worth it!princess:

I second that, my family (DM, DH and I), wouldn't be able to go to WDW without the dining plan. We saw people in line ahead of us, just buying basic items (sandwich, salad, soup)to share and they spent more than the three of us did using three CS credits. granted my DM and I shared a few meals, we still saved alot of money and to have it paid for before leaving on our trip made my trip alot more enjoyable, I didn't have to stress over spending my souvenier money on food.

I just booked our trip and I was reluctant to get the food plan but decided to try it. I noticed that they took off Rainforest Cafe this year. What rest. do you all recommend?

Rainforest Cafe was never on the dining plan

I recommend Chef Mickey's for breakfast
Crystal Palace for breakfast
