I tried doing a search for this question, but didn't see anything that directly answered it so i am hoping someone else can answer it. We have never done the dining plans in all the times we have gone to WDW. This trip we are doing the dining plan (1 TS, 1 QS & 1 Snack). My question is.... one night we are doing 50's Prime Time and if i read correctly, with the dining plan we get a dessert. Does this include like the Smores or Dad's brownie at 50's Prime Time or is there special desserts that the meals include?

It includes any dessert on the menu..... Except for a handful of desserts through Disney that are meant for sharing. (For example, the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream is not included). So yes, the S'more and Brownie are both included in the DDP.

For a TS meal -- You get entree, plus beverage (non-alcoholic, and some places exclude more expensive specialty beverages), plus dessert (any dessert on the menu that is considered an individual portion).
For a CS meal -- You get an entree or combo mean, plus beverage plus dessert. (usually a small pre-packaged item).

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2 We never done the dining plan before and figured we would give it a try this time.

I think you'll be glad you did the dining plan. DH and I are able to split our CS meals since they include so much food. We don't pay for any meals OOP. And, we're always so full, we don't use many of our snack credits, so we take some goodies home with us. Enjoy!

How about the Dessert Sample (9.99) at the Grand Floridian Cafe...is that one included or is it meant to be shared...and if so could DH and I just order 1 for us to share? (Hoping we can get that and the Chocolate Fondue and share it all).

I believe I've seen reports that the sampler is excluded, but you may be able to combine your credits and share it.

We've gotten this a few times, my DH & me to share as both of our desserts. Last time however it wasn't offered as it was in the past, so we each ordered a little dessert. I don't know if it was the waitress or new rules but we didn't ask and as it was lunch and we didn't want that much for dessert that day anyway. I would ask even if its not suggested.

I think at 50s in particular, you could get the shake as your dessert or drink. They do that at Sci Fi but I think I've heard on here that they do that at 50s as well. But the dining plan does not have a special menu to order from, its the same menu as if you were ordering OOP.

The Dessert Sampler for 2 requires 2 adults' dessert credits. There is plenty to share. If there is a third adult you will be able to order the Sampler and the Fondue.

Some restaurants have appetizers for 2 or entrees for 2 which work the same way - uses 2 adults' credits.

The dessert sampler at GF seems to be hit or miss. My husband and I have been able to share it twice, but was told it was totally excluded once.:confused3 We got it once, was refused the next time, then got it the third time. It seems to depend on the waitress.

Not all CS desserts are pre-packaged or small. There are some wonderful dessert options at CS like cheesecake or huge cupcakes at Contempo Cafe or Mara for example. Others do have limited options, but these are wonderful and HUGE(cupcakes that is)!!!! Check the menus for CS on allears.net

True! Starring Rolls bakery in DS has really good, huge cupcakes. CSR also has good homemade desserts (oreo cake, fresh strawberry cake, flan, blueberry or strawberry cheese cake).
