Dining plan for stay over New Year

We are staying in WDW 12/29/16-1/4/2017. We will be getting the dining plan. How does that work when the reservation crosses two years? Do we pay 2016 prices for 3 days and 2017 prices for 4 days? Also, do we need to use all of our entitlements prior to the New Year or do they carryover since it is on the same reservation. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

I think it's based on the day of your check in for your entire trip (unless you split the stay of course). Your entitlements are good until midnight of the day that you check out.

The real fun part will be what you get for your credits. Will your 2016 days be entree, drink, dessert at QS with only 1 snack per night? Will your 2017 days change to the 2017 entitlements? Please, please, remember to come back here and report when you get back!
