Dining plan for children. Question?

If 3 year olds are eligible for the Dining Plan, but a restaurant states "Children 3 and under may share from the plate of an adult", do you have to use a dining credit for that child if they share your plate?

It's not "3 and under". It's under 3. If they are old enough to get the DDP - so 3 - they will be charged at any buffets / fixed price type places. Doesn't matter if they eat anything or not or have their own plate or not - you will be charged.

I think I have always seen it worded "children under 3". So, they may allow it at plated meals, but not buffets.

If you do not order a meal for your three year old you do not have to spend one of their credits. However, if you don't spend the child's credits, you'll have extra kids credits you need to do something with.

As noted, this does not apply at any restaurant with a "per person" pricing structure - buffets, all you can eat family style, dinner shows, CRT or Akershus. Everyone 3 and over pays at these locations.

Patrons of any age may share except at buffets or fixed price locations. If the child is 3 and it is a buffet they will be charged.
