Does anyone use the dining plan for a character breakfast or do you think it is just not worth it? Should I save the credit for a more expensive meal?

we did a CM at Cape May the last day BECAUSE WE had 3 TS left to use so we did breakfast on our way out....it was a nice end to the trip. Also used it at H&V FOR JOJO b'fast....mainly did this because it was a late breakfast & our "MEAL for the day". We like breakfast so I don't feel it's a waste....SCI FI , again, one we had to use or lose due to missing several TS because of napping kids, that was more of a waste to me than the b'fast.

The way we plan things, we always have 3 TS credits left for a character buffet our last day there. We really enjoy doing a character breakfast that morning, almost like saying goodbye to the characters, and then spending a few hours in one of the parks (usually MK) to get few last minute rides in and pick up any souviners we had not already gotten.

We always go to Chef Mickeys for brunch on the DDP and it is well worth it to us. We have also used it for breakfast at Crystal Palace for an early breakfast before the park opens and felt it well worth the money and great photo ops in the Park before the crowd hits.We get an 8am ressie at CP and Main Street and in front of the castle is virtually vacant. :cool1:

it depoends on what else yu have booked, if you are using your TS's for evening meals you get more monetary vlaue, but if they are not otherwise used then it is best to get the most enjoyment out of them, and breakfast can do that.

We also used 4 TS credits for the breakfast at Cape May on the last morning. It was a great way to finish off the holiday. You are bound to 'make money' overall on the dining plan, so we decided simply to spend the credits on what we wanted to eat, rather than trying to max out the plan. The breakfast was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Go for it!

I agree with many above who ended up with a "couple of extra" TS meals.

We had split two meals 3 ways (at Chefs/France & at Tony's..still had more than enough food for the 3 of us btw).

Had a character bfast at Donalds (in AK) our second to last day and used two of the TS credits (& paid OOP for the other). Saved us about $40

So, you might schedule a character bfast the last (or second to last) day. If you have any credits left, use them....if not, enjoy the meal anyway. :)

I had the a similar concern - not really over the value of using TS credits for breakfast, but rather that we'd still need lunch and dinner and end up paying OOP for one - something I wanted to avoid.
I decided to make our ADR (just did it yesterday) for 11 at Chef Mickey's. More of a brunch/lunch but with yummy breakfast food. We'll just eat a small breakfast in the room, at least the kids will, just like every other morning. Then, use our CS credits for dinner - all our other days CS will be for lunch, TS for dinner.

Maybe doing more of a brunch and making it your big meal of the day will make it seem more of a "value"?

We'll be using 3 out of our 4 TS at a character meal. Reasons being #1--my kids are picky, #2--they are buffets and have a great variety, and #3--my kids just won't eat the new kids meals at the TS restaurants.

This is the main reason we eat breakfast at CP! ;) We also don't worry about maxing out the value of the DP. And as someone else mentioned, it gives all in my family a variety to choose from.

We do a mix of character and fine dining. We usually do chef mickeys and cinderellas castle and sometimes norway's princess breakfast. Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner is great it is family style (turkey, roast, ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, mac n cheese). We also love to do LeCellier and 50's Cafe, and we are going to try Rose and Crown just because we might not go there or have all of the things that we get w/out the dp. This way we all get a variety of characters and foods we like. best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
