Dining plan for a split reservation

We just made a reservation for 4 nights at one resort, followed by 3 nights at another. The reservation agent gave us two different confirmation numbers, and treated these as two totally separate reservations.

Is there a way to do the Dining plan without having to buy two separate sets of park tickets? Considering that ticket prices get incrementally cheaper as days add on, there is a huge difference (hundreds of dollars total) between buying the DP for one ticket for all 7 days, vs. having to buy two tickets with the DP attached to each.

We were up in the air about whether or not to buy the dining package (we have done it before, but are less certain this time) - this might make our decision easy...

The travel agent is correct that you have 2 completely separate reservations so whatever the package requirements are, they apply to each reservation. While it is a single vacation for you, Disney regards it as 2 separate stays at 2 different resorts.

In the case of the dining plan, you will need to purchase the required tickets for each reservation. You can put the number of days you're going to need park tickets for on the first reservation and use those tickets for the lenghth of your stay. The park admissions will not be affected by the fact you will be checking out midway through your trip and that KTTW card will still work at the turnstiles. For the second reservation get just the minimum ticket days required (1 day for paid or 2 days for free dining) and save those tickets for a future trip. Just be sure not to accidently use them.

Or you could have the dining plan on one stay, but the other reservation can be a room only with no dining plan. There's no way to avoid getting a room + tickets + dining package for both reservations unless you qualify for a ticketless package (AP holder, DVC stay on points, or military package)
