We still waste a lot of the food, but it's just easier for us to each order what we want.
I'd upgrade to adult for your DD. The real problem is when you have a kid that is clearly an adult and they want the kids menu stuff. DS is 16 and won't eat off the adult menus. Talk about a waste of $!![]()
Ive got the same problem with DD17. She eats like a bird and prefers the kids meals. Thats one reason we dont get the dining plan. Just too much waste of food and money for us. We have 4 that qualify for adult and only one child. I can feed our family much cheaper per day by just ordering off menus and splitting meals- they do give you tons of food.
For those with older kids/teens that want the kids menu foods, you can get most of the kid choices in an adult portion. My daughter is picky and preferred the kids menu, so she was allowed to order off of it.

True, but it just bothers me to have to pay $40 a day for him on the dining plan so that he can order a jumbo sized Mickey pasta at a table service dinner. We did the dining plan once...never again...turned out to be very very pricey kids meals for him. Whatever we saved money wise on ourselves went back out the window with DS. Hopefully his taste buds will mature soon and he won't think filet mignon and the like are icky!![]()
