Can I buy the dining plan for my 2.5 year old? She will not be happy if her older siblings are getting their own meals. This is not during free dining, so we would be paying for it.

Only if you age her up to 3 and buy her a park ticket as well. That could also impact your room occupancy limit if you are already at the room limit + one under 3.

I would just pay cash and buy her what she wants to eat at the restaurants.

You would have to buy her a park ticket as 3, and chances are, she won't eat as much food as the park ticket costs. If you are going to buffets, or all you can eat, she eats free anyways.

Just buy her a meal at the CS places as needed. It will be far less $$. If she wants a meal at non buffet TS just order her one there as well. It will still be less $$ than than upgrading to a ticket and DDP.

Trust me,d efinitely not worth it to purchase the plan for someone that young. Even if purchasing the plan was an option for that age, it wouldn't be worth the money (though technically you could claim she's 3 and buy her a park ticket). I would just buy her a meal separately to share. You'll save a ton of money. At buffets, she eats for free.

I actually did the math on this because I was wondering as well. It truly does not come out to do be worth it to buy a child's ticket simply to get free dining. A QS meal will be about $6-$7 for a kid and a table service about $10. Most snacks are around $5. So your value for a kids meal plan is about $22 a day and that is much less than a park ticket. If you are on the QSDP it comes out to a worse value.

If you leave your 2.5 yo as is and get free admission you can purchase meals as you wish. Also if you have any buffets scheduled they are also free for those under 3.

At some sit down restaurants, they will provide her with her own plate (with food). They did this for us at CRT (for no additional charge). At buffets, she can get her own plate also.
