Dining plan + extra resort days

So we have a tripped plan with free dining. We are going to be spending 5 nights at WDW, but 4 days of park tickets. We are spending a day visiting my husband's grandmother at the end of the trip, then leaving the next day. Can I use my dining credits the day I don't have park tickets? Was the rule you could use the dining credits until midnight the day after your last park ticket?

Yes, No. You can use dining credits until the end of the day you check out of your resort. Dining credits are not in any way tied to your tickets.

dining plan credits are not linked to the number of days you have on a ticket.

dining plan credits are determined by the number of nights you stay at a resort.

you can use your credits whenever you wish up til midnight on the day of check out.

heck you could use them all on one day if you wanted to.

so yes of course you can use the credits on a non park day. (you would just have to use them at restaurants that are not located inside the parks so for example you could use them at resorts or DTD)

Just for clarification, tickets are measured in days, but packages (and dining) are measured in nights.
