We have booked as a party of 6, for 11 nights, but in 2 separate rooms and I am wondering how our Dining Plan credits will be assigned. Will each room have credits for only those guests? (ie room A will have 4x11 nights credits and room B will have 2x11 nights credits)
OR will each card hold all the credits? (ie 11nights of credits for all 6 guests)

Hope this makes sense - was hard to write down!

Each room will have credits for the said people, but up to you how you use your credits. In our case we use all our snacks at the end of the holiday:thumbsup2

why? - Am I missing a trick?

No, not missing a trick at all

Some folk don't use their snack credits, or use very few during the stay and come the end of the trip there are plenty left to 'spend' before leaving. It is quite a popular option to buy things that travel well and take them home as gifts or to enjoy once the holiday is over.

Remember that with your KTTW cards, any card can be used to redeem credits for all or any of the guests in that room; It makes no difference whose card is used.

never had the dining plan before as usualy stay in a villa, this years offer was to good to turn down. We also will be unlikly to eat any more than the meals most days. What sort of things can be used by the snack credits as gifts for younger girls friends.

Last year I saw a woman in DHS using up her snack credits, she was buying 2 pieces of every flavour of fudge, it was really holding the queue up!

Dont understand as to why it would hold up the queue.

she kept changing her mind and it was just a time consuming purchase, not many people buy that many different things at once, it was right before Fantasmic as well so a big queue of people wanting to buy snacks to take in.

Back to the original post it depends how you booked. When we booked 2 rooms through VH all the credits were on all keys and we were assigned connecting rooms as it was done in one booking.

It booked with Disney direct or on seperate booking the credits will be done per room.

That's interesting - we are booked through Virgin but haven't requested connecting rooms (and wouldn't really want them either as grandparents will need some peace now and again :rotfl2:). I wonder if all our credits will be on all keys? I'm not sure if that would work so well for us if we won't always eat together. Because we might sometimes end up buying meals for our 2 year old I'd like to keep track of our own credits as a family of four and that would allow us some flexibility in whether we used up a meal/snack credit for the 2 year old and paid OOP elsewhere.

Maybe this is something we can have resolved at check in?

Ours have always been on all people sharing the room so each KTTW card has had the same amount of credits on.Child can only be used for child on the TS meals and adult for adult TS but the CS credits anyone can use. I prefer it like this .If my mom doesnt come out for the day with us she can use her card to get herself something. She just tells us whether she had a CS or TS but she has never had a TS on her own.We always go togeather.

We didn't request or really want connecting room either however because it was one booking they were unable to seperate. It caused problems with charging too as they could only link one card to the two rooms. We solved that buy putting our card on and the in-laws paid off their bit on the night before check out.

That doesn't sound great either - I'm sure we rather have the freedom to make purchases separately too.
Thanks for pointing this out - think I'm going to have to look into this a bit further before we leave on Monday!

The front desk can print a list of all the charges and can be identified by the KTTW card number. If you go the last evening whoevers card is not on the room can just pay off their portion and the balance will be charged at midnight.
