Dining plan credit question

My family will be using the dining plan on our vacation. When we dine at table service restaurants, are we limited as to how many credits we use? If we have 4 people staying in our room, and we have an extra guest at dinner with us, would we be able to use 5 dining credits? My husband wanted to treat his brother to dinner. I don’t know if we could use a dining credit for him, or would we have to pay out of pocket? We are considering a regular table service, not a signature restaurant if that makes a difference.
I understand when using counter service meals, we can use as many as we want per transaction.

It is my understanding you can use your credits to pay for guests that are not included in your dining plan! Enjoy!

Yes you are allowed to pay for non guest's meals with your dining plan credits.
No problem.
