I think I saw an excel spreadsheet for the dining plan on here once that would help you figure out whether you would save money with the DDP or if you should just use the DDE. I'm trying to figure out whether we should add the dining plan to our Oct trip, and I've love to have that tool to help me plan!

found it! PM me with your email address and i will send the attachment....:thumbsup2

Just a thought…we used the DDP last year for the first time. Stayed 5 nights and paid $922 for the 4 of us. I saved all of my receipts and they totaled almost $1,400. We ate at restaurants that we never would have if we did not have last years plan. We will be using it again this summer. Good Luck

Wow,
how much of that $1400 was TS meals? 18% tip would be alot. If you were paying OOP would you still really want to eat the same things? Just curios as I don't think we would only because me and my DS are so picky.

This is the Dining Plan Calculator that I came up with

http://personalpages.tds.net/~rb/DIS/MYW Dining/DisneyDining Template.xls

We actually just got back, ate exactly what we wanted and where we wanted, we personally saved over $500 without using the DDP, but every family is different. As PP mentioned, they saved almost $500 by using the plan. The best bet is to look at the menus and see what you WOULD order if money weren't an object, versus what you COULD order.

Using the spreadsheet, how do I determine what is a two credit TS vs. 1 credit?

If you are using my spreadsheet, then I'd just note (2) next to the Name of the TS locations that are two TS credits. Since there is a count of total credits available for each plan that automatically calculates, it should be a pretty easy count for you to determine how many TS/CS credits you'd use.

I can't speak for the other sheet as I haven't seen it.

Thanks!
Your spreadsheet is great, but I didn't even get to finish because two of the restaurants we go to aren't available. :(

But it works nicely! :thumbsup2

thanks, tricia, for the spreadsheet - again:goodvibes !
this wonderful dis'er is the one i got it from originally a while back. i found it to be such an awesome tool for us that i was just "sharing the love".

as she was so generous in sharing before, i hope that it was okay that i passed it on to some other dis'ers who needed it ;) ?

:rotfl: Thanks for sharing it!! I just didn't know that you were sharing my version or I wouldn't have posted the link.
