Ok, I'm wondering about that all you can plan that US and IOA have. Has anyone used it? Was it worth it? Can you give me examples of how you/your family used it (as in where, for what, savings, etc?) that you felt it was a good deal.

We are a family of four, two teen boys, and will be staying at one of the Universal hotels for one night so that we can have two days in the parks with the front of the line pass. We are hoping to do one day at each park, full day....I think 9 to 6 are the hours....late August.

So, what was your experience? Would it be worth it for us do you think? Are there places on the plan for breakfast as well? Are the places on the plan any good? Are there restrictions to what you can order?

Any info greatly appreciated!!

I dont think its worth it with short park hours. No breakfast on the plan. I think 11A is the earliest you can use this. I also recall food places closing an hour prior to park close. Maybe others can verify this. How much would anyone really eat between those hours? ALTHOUGH you are talking about teens!:lmao:

the meal deal is valid from 11:00 to 30 minutes prior to park closing.

i have used it and loved the food at Louie's and IFFF.
the menus there suit me just fine.

beverages are not included in the meal deal.
there is another promo for that unless you bring back your reusable cup for cheap refills.

i only use the meal deal on the day i plan to walk around, take pictures and graze for the day.

if you are going for only one day/maybe 2, it would take a lot of ride time
away from you.

might not be worth it if the park is closing early.

I don't like it as it forces me to eat more, just to get my money's worth. But my teenage brother... It was made just for him! You can continue eating from any of the Meal Deal Restaurant as long as you make the line again. So you can typically go several times for just dessert. Or in the case of Louies make the line several times for yummy pizza.

OK, thanks everyone for your input.

Another couple of questions for you....is the price of the deal the same if I buy it now or when we go to the park? Can ONE person in your party have the deal if the others do not want it?

Regarding the fill up cup....can it be used both days we are in the park? How much is that?

Yes, only one person can get it. The price is the same

We just came back and did the meal deal one day.

Entrees range from $6-9 each.

Pro's...

can eat as much as you want..good variety...pizza, pasta, salad, burgers, chicken..

Con's

Only one entree and dessert per trip...then you have to wait in the line all over again

No extra sides are included...no onion rings..egg rolls etc...

There is a last minute rush 30 minutes before close and we waited an hour to get threw the line...

It was amazing that that five people would wait in line and then when it came to order the five turned into 20 people...lots of place in line holding

We did not do the meal deal drink. Universal was selling their refillable cups($6.99)buy 2 get one free and paying for the refill ($0.85) was cheaper than paying for the meal deal cups...plus we could get refills anywhere... meal deal cups ($8.99) are only refillable at the three restaurants that do the meal deal...

I think the food choices for the meal deal are much better at Us than IOA. I would try it at US first and see how you like it.
