Dining Plan and Rented DVC Points

Hi everyone,

We are approaching our ADR dates (we are doing a split stay so I understand I will need to make ADRs in two time blocks) and I have a question about the Dining Plan.

I think I will need to get two separate dining plans - one for each of our stays. Our plans are below with my first question - have I calculated the right number of credits for the DDP? I think it s 3 TS and 2 snacks for each night you stay?

December 30 - 31 (check out is the Jan 1): Animal Kingdom Lodge (6 TS credits, 4 snacks)
January 1 - 5 (check out is Jan 6): Beach Club (15 TS credits, 10 snacks)

My next question is whether I need to have purchased my plans through the DVC owner BEFORE I make my ADRs or if I can make all my ADRs on July 3 and 5 respectively and then add on the plans within the one month window the broker gives.

Yes, you need two separate plans - even if you end up renting from one owner.
Three dining+two snack credits is the Deluxe Plan. Is that what you want?

One thing to remember is that you can also get two sets of refillable mugs because technically these are two separate reservations so you can get one set at each resort when you check in. We have done split stays the last two years and lets just say we never run out of clean resort mugs to use for coffee on the way to work in the morning.

It means that as long as you have a resort reservation, you can make dining reservations beginning 180 days before your resort reservation begins with up to 10 additional days. The +10 means that you can make reservations up to ten days into your reservation so technically you would be making dining reservations for your tenth day of your reservation if you were staying that long 190 days in advance because of the +10. So the reservation allows you to make dining reservations for your entire trip on day 180 where anyone without a reservation could only book dining reservations for their first day at 180 and then their second day at 179, etc.

In your case, you will be able to book ADR's for December 30 and 31 180 days before December 30 and then you will be able to book ADR's for January 1-5 180 days before January 1 because of the separate reservations.

Also remember that these are two separate reservations so you cannot combine credits from the two of them to use them for signature dining and I don't think the credits for the second reservation will become active until after you check in at the second resort.

You are checking in 12/30. When your 180 days arrives, you can make ADRs for 12/30, 12/31, and 1/1.
You cannot make ADRs for 1/2 and beyond, because that is a separate resort reservation.

No, you can deal with the dining plan stuff separately from making your ADRs. You are correct that you will need to buy your dining plans through the DVS owner(s) you are renting from.

Pretty sure that's a typo. Anyone can make an ADR at date + 180; resort guests (including DVC stays) get what we call "180 + 10", that is, at your 180 day before arrival mark, you can make ADRs for that day, and up to 9 additional days (or the length of stay, whichever is less), as a resort guest perk.

Note that each reservation has it's own 180-mark and length of stay.
