I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place, this is my first post. I have tried searching for this but I can not find the answer.

I am planning a trip to WDW in Nov 2017. My husband is retired military and I would like to take advantage of the regular military discounted tickets that are for sale at his base. We are going for 9 days with our 2 children, so we cannot use the Salute tickets (limit of 6, 4 day hopper passes). We are going to stay at AoA and hoping to book with the 30% military discount if it is offered again next year.

My question is with this arrangement, will we be able to add the Dining Plan and Memory Maker to our stay. From what I see, you can only add them after you add tickets, but maybe after linking the tickets to our reservation we would be able to add them? Or are they only available if you are booking the whole package through Disney?

Thanks in advance! I love this forum and I have spent many many hours these last couple days combing through these posts, and they are so super helpful!

Yes you can after linking your tickets with your reservation. We are not military but my husband got discount tickets through a program at work. We booked BLT room only and signed on to my disney experience. Then there's a section that says "add tickets" and I added the ticket number on our order and our tickets popped up. I added memory maker to our account as well. We didn't do the Disney Dining Plan this time but I am pretty sure it's the same process. Once you're on My Disney Experience you can pretty much add anything- dining reservations, etc. This is where your fast pass plus will show up too- you'll still get to book 60 days in advance because you're staying on Disney property even though you bought tickets elsewhere.

I hope that helps! Have so much fun!!!

There is such a thing as a "ticketless package", which cannot be booked on the website. You have to call, specifically ask for it and hope that you got a CM who knows what you're talking about. They offer it for the convenience of AP holders who want to book onsite and add the dining plan but have no need for tickets. However, I believe that anyone can book one. I just don't know if you would also qualify for the military discount on the room if you try to book one. I know that AP holders definitely can add any AP room-only discount to the package.

As for Memory Maker, there is no need to have a package with Disney to buy it. Disney sells MM to offsite guests all of the time.

Very helpful, thank you!

With the military discount you can add dining. This would be considered a package. When the military discounts are released call Disney or tell your TA that you want a military Room & Dine package. This can include Quick Service, Disney Dining Plan or Deluxe Dining Plan, whichever you choose. You will then link your park tickets separately to MDX.
