We are going in Feb. for 4 nights - arriving around 10 p.m. on Thurs. and leaving around 4 on Monday - staying at GF. There will be DH, myself, DDs 7 and 9, and DS 3. We are DVC members so usually stay there and have access to the kitchen, but will be staying at GF with no car and no kitchen this trip. With the increase in the dining plan ($38/adult and $11/child) for 2006, I'm trying to see if it is worth it for us. We already have tickets, but are always purchasing tickets to keep for future trips, so having extra is no big deal. We aren't huge eaters but do like the nicer meals. We want to do Chef Mickey so I thought we could do that for dinner and we'll do Concourse Steakhouse too. We usually eat breakfast and then a dinner while there with a snack in between so this looks appealing, but there's limited places for breakfast. I'm not looking to "cheat" the system, but want to make sure we get our money's worth and hopefully save a little too. Any tips, suggestions, advice as to whether this is a program for us? HELP!

Think of it as $28 for dinner, 10 for your counter and snack. It includes taxes and tips so don't forget to add those in for comparison.
CM's will clear the threshold.
Concourse likely will for dinner unless you get the cheapest thing on the menu without any appetizers drinks or deserts. But because you're only eating 1 other meal plus a snack, you'll likley be hungry enough at dinner time to clear the threshold.
Most every place clears it for dinner.

Breakfast.... you might want to use your counter meal to do breakfast and pick another nice place for dinner. like Kona or Ohana. Or if you're going to Epcot do one of those or Spoodles on the boardwalk.

Note that next year's prices for the plan are released. next year's menu prices remain to be seen.

We used the plan @ Cinderella's for dinner, dinner would have cost over $150 with tip. The food itself was better than I expected, got to interact with Cinderella herself and see Peter Pan & Capt. Hook run past our window seat - priceless. Cyrstal Palace would be another option. Don't forget, the snack option can be used for bottled water - handy. Enjoy.

I would highly recomend the dining plan. We just got back and probably spent half of what we would have on food.
